Spelling

 

  SPELLING

Students receive a list of the 20 words along with a spelling packet for practice each Monday. First page of the packet is due on Tuesday. Second page is due on Wednesday. The third page is due on Thursday. Fifth grade students take their spelling test on Friday.

Remember to STUDY daily!

SPELLING WORD STUDY TIPS

1. Print or write each word in cursive five times each.

2. Make flash cards of spelling words.

3. Write a sentence with each spelling word.

4. Type each word five times on the computer.

5. Take a practice Spelling Test on Thursday.

6. Write and illustrate each word.

7. Write the word and a definition that you can understand.

8. Write the words and highlight the spelling pattern for the week.

(i.e. Words That End With -ar, Suffix -ness, or Homophones)

9. Write words in ABC order.

10. Write the word and a synonym and/or antonym for each word.
