Dear Parents,
Another busy and successful week! We are loving the Storybird website!! The students have been busy at school and some at home creating wonderful storybooks! Please get on the site using your child's log-in (it's at the bottom of my "Links" page) and read all the marvelous books the students have been creating. We will be doing this for the rest of the year. You can also order copies of your child's book to download and print and also get it bound into a hardcover book. The possibilities are endless! Check it out. We've got some amazing authors in here! One note, if your child starts a story at school for an assignment I've given them, please have them work on it only at school-thanks. They can create new ones at home as many of them have.
Don't forget to send in the valentines and mailboxes Tuesday morning-not before, please. The party is 1:30-2:30 and everyone is welcome to come.
Please remember to check the Spicewood efolder every Friday. It contains important weekly information for our school. You can easily get to it on the Spicewood Website homepage or the link #1 on my "Links" page.
The moon observing homework is going very well! Thanks for your help and support with this. We are watching the pattern of the moon's appearance grow daily!
A big thank you to Elliot and his family for donating glue sticks, to Nate and his family for donating scissors for the classroom and stickers for the store, and Sarah and her family for some great prizes for our class store.
Friday is our school-wide Enrichment Day. This year the theme is Fine Arts and Fairytales. We will be traveling around the school going to hear, do, and see different activities. Our lunch time will be different due to this. Our lunch time will be from 11:10-11:40. We also have a different lunch time on Tuesday due to a slight schedule change. Tuesday's lunch time is from 11:11-11:41. Just wanted all families to know in case anyone's coming one of those days to eat lunch with their child.
At the end of this letter, I will be attaching a note about the Rally for Recess playground contest that we won. Take a look! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Jacobs
Dear Spicewood Families, Teachers and Staff,
I have been apart of the Spicewood Family for over eight years. During that time Spicewood has always answered the call for help. The Rally for Recess contest was certainly no different. Everyone answered loud and clear!
I am SO excited to say, as of last night it looks like We Have Won A Playground! The deadline to submit codes ended at 11pm on 2/8/12. At that time we were still in First Place! Our final confirmation will come at the end of this month.
We had so many volunteers donating codes, stamps, index cards, envelopes and their time. So many of you also helped with filling out cards, stuffing envelopes and entering codes. It was amazing the support that came pouring in!
Many, Many Thanks to ALL of you! You have given so generously with your resources and time. I wish I could thank each of you personally. Know your generosity and time helping were greatly appreciated.
Special Thank You's go out to Anne Marie Cote, Lisa Revelett and Amy Copeland for leading us to Victory! They donated their personal resources, endless hours of their time, ideas and energy. All of which got us to First Place!
I'm so happy for our students and teachers! They made this journey well worth it!
Once again Thank You for your support!
Congratulations Spicewood!
