They still must attend school, but it may feel to them that third grade ended with the STAAR. The big shift from school routines to summer routines is around the corner, and that anticipated change, though welcome, can cause some anxiety. And, frankly, the children are tired. They have worked hard this year on many new challenges. All this means that behavior at school can deteriorate. Here's how you can help your child wrap up third grade on a happy, positive note. Enforce school night bedtimes. Keep routines at home. Remind your child that learning will be happening right up to the end of school. For my part, I will continue to maintain routines and expectations and will have some fun and engaging learning activities planned. Thank you for your support! To find out about the unit of inquiry we are currently working on, go to the Third Grade Team page and click on PYP Units of Inquiry. Our current unit is on the transdisciplinary theme "Sharing the Planet."
