Homework for Mrs. Cowan's Second Grade Class
Each night students should read for at least 15 minutes and practice math
facts for at least 5 minutes.
Reading:
The reading can be aloud, silent or a combination of both. Students are
responsible for getting their own reading material from the school/public
libraries, home, etc... I will send book bags home with struggling, below
level readers.
Math:
The math can be on the computer, written work or flash cards.
The weekly Homework Log will go home on Tuesdays in the Homework Folder. The
Homework Log will be due the following Tuesday. There is a place for a parent
to sign.
Occasionally, a special project will come home. Directions will be attached,
and an e-mail will be sent to you.
If a student gets behind in class work, it may be sent home.
If a student is experiencing difficulty with a skill, extra work may be sent
home.
Please keep the Homework Folder in your child's backpack. Each night check it
for teacher notes or extra work.
If you have notes for me please put them in the Homework Folder and remind
your child to give them to me. The Homework Folders are convenient to carry
notes/extra work back and forth, but the folders will be kept in the
backpacks and not checked daily by me.
