Hi! My name is Peggy Powers. I was born and raised in Illinois. When I was
in second grade I loved my teacher so much I wanted to grow up to be just
like her. So, after high school I went to Illinois State University and
became a teacher. I moved to Austin to be near my sister, and I loved it so
much I never left. Now my mom and brother live here too! I have been
teaching here at Spicewood for a total of 19 years. I started out in second
grade, taught music for a year, then third grade, and finally ended up in
TAG. I am married and have two children - my daughter is attending Cedar
Valley College in Dallas, and my son is a senior at Texas State University. I
feel lucky to be teaching at this wonderful school!
