Dear Parents of Roots and Shoots Members, Jan. 28, 2010

As you may have heard, our Roots and Shoots team has donated to Kiva.org.  Our team is called Spicewood Elementary Roots and Shoots.  If your child has an email account, they may join our team on Kiva.  They will need to search for our team and request to join.  They will also have to join Kiva.org.  They do not have to loan any money of their own.  They will receive notifications on our loans.  This is not a requirement!

                                                Thank you,

                                      Mrs. Jacobs and Ms. Williams

Please email us if you have any questions.

Aware of the needs his family is going through, Karim requested and received a loan from IMON International three years ago. He used that loan to buy seeds and mineral fertilizer for his harvest. Spicewood's Roots and Shoots has joined Kiva! (www.kiva.org) We are currently supporting the following person from the Philippines:

Mrs. Letecia Bagabuyo is from the barangay or village of Solinog located in Calamba, Misamis Occidental. She is 66 years old. She is married and blessed with three adult-aged children. She gets a small income from dealing NATASHA products (apparel, beauty products, etc) to the local community but this is not enough for her to be self-sustaining or to help support her husband and family. In fact, her main source of income comes primarily from her pension, which is in the amount of P7,500 monthly. In 2009, she joined PMPC to gain access to the programs and services of the Co-op. She requested her second loan in the amount of P30,000, which will be used to purchase housing materials so she can repair and renovate her house.
