When is tutoring?

Tutoring is available every Thursday after school from 3:15 - 
4:00 or Tuesday mornings from 7:30 - 8:00. You need a pass signed
by your parent to attend. (You may download one from the
homepage.) See your teacher to make an appointment if you would
like to tutor at another time.

When are exams?

The math department's test day is Friday. Students will usually 
have an exam every other Friday. Our alternate test day is
Wednesday.

How do I know if my child has math homework (or Home Fun as we call it)?

You can check this website (under Homework Icons),or you can look 
in your child's planner. All students are required to write the
objective and homefun each day in their planner.

What is your late work policy?

For all 7th graders: If the assignment is 1 day late there is a 
15 point deduction, 2 days late is a 30 point deduction, and 3
days late is a 50 point deduction with mandatory tutoring.

How can I schedule a conference?

You can call 281.213.1645 and ask to speak with the 7th grade 
counselor if you would like all of your child's teachers to
attend the conference, or you can call the number above and leave
a message for your child's math teacher if you would just like a
conference with her.

What are the grading categories and percentages in Level 1?

Major Grades = 40%
Daily Grades = 25%
Alternative Assessments = 35%

Major Grades = 40%
Daily Grades = 30%
Alternative Assessments = 30%

What is the difference between Level 1 and On-Level?

Level 1 students study some 7th grade TEKS and all of the 8th 
grade TEKS. Level 1 students will take Algebra next year in 8th
grade. (Note: Algebra is a 9th grade class and earns a high
school credit.)
On-Level students study only 7th grade TEKS and will take On-
Level math in 8th grade.

How often should I expect my child to have homework (Home Fun) in math?

You should expect your child to come home with Home Fun 3-4 times 
per week.

What are the Progress Report dates?

Progress reports will be distributed on September 15, October 23, 
December 1, January 28, March 23, and May 11.

Can I come to visit my child's math classroom?

Definitely! We welcome all parents. All we ask is that let your 
child's math teacher know that you would like to visit. Upon
arrival at the school, please sign in at the front desk.

We are always looking for people to help. We do many center / 
group activities throughout the year, and would love to have a
