Dear Parents,
Welcome to the beginning of one of the most exciting years your child
will have in his/her school career! Kindergarten is an exciting time as
children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning. This is a year
of important transitions, students will learn to let go and take a step in the
direction of learning on his/her own. Many new skills will be introduced, you
will be amazed at the steps your child will take as they "grow-up".
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Mrs.
Judith, Judy, Andrepont. I am beginning my Twenty-third year teaching. I
graduated from U.S.L. now named University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a
degree in kindergarten and elementary education. I lived in Jennings,
Louisiana for over 50 years. I moved to Pearland with my husband, Dennis, of
34 years. I have been in Texas since May 2007. I still visit Jennings often
to see my mother. She is 85 years old. She is still living in Jennings and is
very important in our lives. We have 2 grown daughters, Roquee (Rocky) and
Emmy.
Roquee has a master's degree in Family Counceling from the University of
Louisiana at Lafayette. She is married to Chris Forson and they will be
transferring to the Houston area during the month of June. Roquee just
accepted a job from Houston Baptist University. She will have the position of
Director of Student Involvement. Chris works for AT & T. They have blessed us
with a beautiful grandchild, James Martin.
Emmy is one of the CyFair I.S.D. Nutritionists. She is a Registered Dietitian
with a master’s degree in Public Health from the University Of Texas Health
Science Center. She is engaged to Casey Durand. Casey and Emmy met at UT in
2006. Casey just earned his PHD from the University of Southern California
with the degree of Doctor of Philosophy with a major in Preventative
Medicine. They will be married on November 17, 2012 in Jennings.
All four of us are college graduates of the University of Louisiana at
Lafayette. My son-in-law, Chris, is also a U.L at Lafayette graduate.

SCHOOL HOURS
Please see that your child gets to school on time. School begins at 8:00 on
Monday through Thursday and on Friday arrival should be before 7:50.
Remember we are opening the car doors for students to enter school so allow
extra time for this. Your child’s regular and prompt attendance at school is
crucial to his/her success. Please view school as one of your child’s
priorities. Students that are absent due to a family emergency or illness
are excused from the school day but not from their classwork. Students are
expected to make-up missed work at home. Please call the office to set up a
pick up time to get the missed assignments in the office. Please email to let
me know when you plan to pick-up the assignments.
My mission is to provide opportunities for students to achieve their personal
best, become responsible and productive and embrace lifelong learning in a
safe and positive environment.
I will provide meaningful and challenging educational activities that are
appropriate for each student’s academic, social, and personal development.
This will be your child's first year at St. Helen Catholic School. The
students will learn the letters of the alphabet during the first few weeks
and then we will review them again as we go through our lessons. This will be
an exciting and fun filled year! I would like to thank you for choosing St
Helen for your child's first school experience.
Please contact me with any concerns.
Thank you,
Judy R. Andrepont
(Mrs. A.)
