I have been at St. Helen School for 12 years. This will be my 4th year
teaching 2nd grade. I started as a 3rd grade teacher and also taught 4th
grade.
Mrs. Quick and I are the second grade team. Mrs. Quick will teach the
Language Arts Block --English, Reading, Spelling, and handwriting. I will
teach Math,Science, Social Studies and Religion. This year I will also be
preparing the children for First Communion.
I was born and raised in Robstown, Texas. I attended Texas A&I University
Texas/A&M University in Kingsville and graduated with a Bachelor of
Science in Elementary Education with a specialization in Art. I have worked
with children for over 35+ years. My husband is retired from the Arm Forces
and is working on his second career. As a dependant military spouse, my
family has had the opportunity to travel and meet a diversity of people and
learn about their culture. Our girls are married and both their husbands also
served/serving in the Army. We have 5 grandchildren! Our son-in-law Daniel
was seriously wounded on the line of duty and is retired. We thank God
everyday that Daniel is with us. Our other son-in-law just returned from the
Middle East this past week. They are now in Colorado. Please continue to
pray for those brave men and women who serve this great nation of ours. Our
son Ivan graduated from the University of St. Thomas in Houston and just
started his first teaching job!
I feel very blessed to be part of St. Helen. I am looking forward to getting
to know you and your child. My goal is to make the learning process an
exciting and productive experience. I believe that with your support and
encouragement we can achieve this goal. Thank you for sharing your children
