I would like to take a moment and introduce myself. I have a Masters in
Education and a B.A. in Social Work. I am certified to teach 1st through 8th
grade English Language Arts. I have been in the education industry
for over 20 years. I taught special needs teens in Chicago, moved to Austin
in 1992 and worked in early education, as a Director of a Preschool and later
as an Assistant Principal. This will be my sixth year at Chaparral Star Academy.
I have four children. Three of my children attended UT and my youngest
son is a Senior at Texas Tech. I also have a five year old granddaughter
that is the apple of my eye. I love pets and have one dog, one cat and a
fish.
In my spare time tutor or you can find me on the golf course. I enjoy
sewing and reading is also a hobby of mine.
I love to work out at 5:00 in the morning so I am usually here by 7:30 and
my door is usually open at that time.
I look forward to getting to know all of you and your fantastic children!
My mission for the class this year is to bring the joy of writing and
reading to the children through a lot of interactive and creative
strategies. I want them to leave saying,"Where did the year go? I had so
much fun I didn't know the time could go by so fast yet, I have learned so
much."
My motto is "Put your best foot forward and you'll go far!"
