Why are we studying British literature?

This is the short answer. Our American culture is a diverse mix 
of many influences, however we all share a common language in our
educational setting. It is important to understand the history
and evolution of this shared language as well as the artistic
importance of frequently studied works.

Is it true that you will deduct 1/2 credit of the point value on any given sentence in an assignment that requires complete sentences if a student forgets to put a period at the end of the sentence?

Yes. If I follow through on this requirement it will
encourage you to do your best work and that is
the expectation for my class.

Is this class going to be fun or difficult?

Yes.  It will be both challenging and fun. I want you 
to enjoy learning while you continue to develop better reading,
writing, and critical thinking skills that will serve you well for
the rest of your life.
