About The Teacher

Jennifer Mudd has been married for 10 years to Jeff Mudd and has two children
McKenzie (8 yrs old - 3rd grade) and McCoy (3 yrs old). She enjoys being
with family and friends, watching mindless TV, working out and catching up
with gossip magazines.
Mudd opened Stony Point High School in 1999 as the only dance teacher
and drill team director. The first year SPHS opened the Tiger Dancer (Drill
Team) had 13 members and the dance dept had 90 students. Today the drill team
has more than 60 members and the dance dept has approximately 500 students.
Since the first year the school opened, the have added a assistant drill
team director/dance teacher position (Stephanie Miller) and an additional
dance teacher (Michelle DeSanto Powers) to its staff. We are lucky this year
to add yet another dance teacher (Abby Minica Goertz). Abby was a Tiger
Dancer for three years and graduated in 2003.
Mudd has been dancing all her life has been trained at the studio, high
school drill team and college level. She grew up in the Dallas area and
attended J. J. Pearce High School and was the Captain of the Pacesetters her
senior year. After high school, she was Kilgore College Rangerette for two
years. Her sophomore year, she was an officer and Head Swingster (elite jazz
company) within the Rangerette organization. After Kilgore, she attended the
University of Texas and was on the Pom Squad and Captain her senior year. She
has a BA degree from UT and teaching certificate from Southwest Texas State
(now Texas State).
Jennifer Mudd enjoys working with the outstanding Tiger Dancer Drill Team and
the SPHS Dance Dept.
