November 9, 2009: If you were not able to finish your TAKS benchmark test last week, they need to be completed by THIS Friday, November 13. Please make arrangements with me to come before or after school to complete your test.
October 30, 2009: Happy HALLOWEEN. I wanted to remind you that I will be gone from school next Tuesday through Friday due to my wife having a baby. Remember to turn in any assignments by Monday so I can have them graded by the end of the six weeks, which ends Friday, November 6. Feel free to e-mail me (

October 21, 2009: YOUR "WHO AM I?" ESSAYS ARE DUE: THURSDAY IF YOU HAVE ME ON "A" DAYS AND FRIDAY IF YOU HAVE ME ON "B" DAYS! Check the "Handouts/Links" link to the left to get the details on the essay if you've forgotten them.
October 13, 2009: Students, don't forget about taking the PSAT test tomorrow (Wednesday)! Check your room assignment if you're not sure what room you'll be taking the test in. Get lots of sleep tonight.
October 7, 2009: Just a reminder about your non-fiction projects: if your group decides to show a video, make sure I have approved it BEFORE the day of your presentation. Also, if you are going to give the class a quiz per your project activity, I can make copies to pass out to the class, but again, let me know BEFORE your presentation!
September 24, 2009: Students, remember that tomorrow (Friday) is the last day to turn in any late assignments for this first six weeks!
TUTORIALS are available before and after school (I have a meeting tomorrow @ 8:15 am, but I will be back in my room by 8:30, give or take a few minutes.)
September 17, 2009: Students, I've added the class notes we took on Archetypes and Theme under the "Handouts/Links" link to the left. If you were absent on the days these notes were covered, or if you've lost the ones you took, or if you just want a nice typed version, they are there for you to use.
September 14, 2009: Parents/Guardians, please be sure to attend Back-to-School Night tonight! I'm looking forward to meeting you and answering any questions you may have for me.
September 8/9, 2009: Remember, Friday is the final day to get missing assignments turned in for progress reports, which go out next week! I am here before school by 7:45 am and I'm here at least until 4:45 pm each day, so come in to get help if you need it.
September 2/3, 2009: I've added sample resumes under the "Handouts/Links" link to the left. Take time to look at those samples, which are the same ones we looked at in class, to get an idea how you want your resume to look.
August 31/September 1, 2009: Students, check the link to the left that says "Handouts/Links" so you can access the outline explaining the Professional Communication Unit, which includes the career summary, professional resume, and interview.
