Did you enjoy our speaker this last Tuesday???   Crime Scene Investigation involves three of our four strands.... HST students would typically be involved in field evidence collection, AP Science students would be performing forensic tests in the lab, and Pre-Med students would be the doctor performing the autopsy.   Very cool slides!

 

Dues for this year are now being collected.   According to our bylaws, dues are $15 per year and cover the cost of your t-shirt, stole at graduation, etc....  Checks are preferred.  Please remember that your check should include your parent DL # and have your name written in the memo portion on the bottom of the check.  T-shirts will be ordered this coming Tuesday and your dues must be paid in order to receive a t-shirt!!!

 

Please remember.... our current bylaws state that you must attend 2/3 of all academy meetings/events for the year.   If you have missed the first three meetings, you need to attend the remainder of the meetings this year!  A different sign in procedure will begin starting this next meeting.   You will sign in with the Academy officer that is in charge of your "class".   The officer will verify your t-shirt size, strand information, and log you into the meeting.   

 

All dates for future Academy Membership meetings have been confirmed.    Please write these dates on your calendar, planner, and/or phone now so that you can make plans to attend.  Remember that afternoon meetings last until 5:15pm.... it is  disruptive and inconsiderate to have students leaving during the speaker presentation, so please plan your transportation accordingly!

ALL STUDENTS!!! - please check the requirements listed on the "strand" you are following to be sure you are enrolled in the correct classes this year.   You must complete the strand requirements in order to graduate with Health Science Academy recognition.  Strand requirements are listed on the Academy website (button on the left side of the SPHS home page).  You are required to be enrolled in one academy course each year in order to maintain your academy status.

It is going to be a grrreat year!!!
