Who is eligible for credit plus?
Students who have not been successful in the traditional classroom setting
are eligible for credit plus. There are a small percentage of students in our
credit plus setting who have moved into the RRISD from another district and
their math credit(s) failed to transfer.
Can multiple credits be earned in a single semester?
Yes, many of our credit plus students are so productive in the credit plus
setting that they are able to complete more than one credit in a single
semester.
How do grades work?
Credit Plus students will receive a grade of 70 on their transcript when
they have completed the requirements for their assigned credit. All students
who enter the credit plus math class start with a grade of 70. Depending
upon the individual students entry date, that 70 will remain as his/her
grade for Credit Plus Math until he/she demonstrates unmotivated,
unproductive behavior for a period of time long enough to indicate a
likelihood of incompletion by the end of the current semester. At that
point, a 50 will be placed as the grade. As a parent, you should contact the
instructor any time you see a 50 as the grade in the Credit Plus math
setting.
What is Just In Time?
Just In Time is designed to help students recover a failing six weeks
grade from a core course that they are currently enrolled. Any
student can sign-up with Mark Heep or Heath Walz in room A206.
Juniors and Seniors with off-periods will lose their off-periods
and be placed into Credit Recovery classes to recover their Just In Time.
Any student that has failed a current six weeks is encouraged to
stop by room A206 and talk to Mr. Heep or Coach Walz. Parents
can feel free to call 428-7241 to discuss Just In Time options.
Can a student work on E2020 at home or another computer outside of school?
Yes, students are allowed to work on E2020 at home. The only thing
that must be complete at school are exams. The student can listen to
lectures, do homework, or take quizzes from home. If a student gets locked
out of the system, they should check periodically to see if they can continue.
Credit Recovery teachers check the system on weekend to unlock students.
What are E2020 Evenings?
E2020 Evenings are an opportunity for our students to work on
their Credit Recovery assignment or a Just In Time in our computer
lab. Our Lab will currently be open on Monday through Thursday
evening from 4:15 to 6:15.
