I received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a
concentration in Accounting from the University of Houston-Victoria, and I
completed my curriculum and instruction coursework from Southwest Texas
State University (Texas State University) at San Marcos. I am certified in
Basic Business and have 16 years of teaching experience in Business courses,
including Accounting I and II, BCIS, Keyboarding, Introduction to Business,
and Recordkeeping. Prior to my teaching I worked for the federal government
and as an accountant for a small accounting firm. I also have several years
of substituting experience before receiving my teaching certificate.
My mission in BCIS class is to prepare students for successful entry into the
workforce and/or college by giving them the computer (software) skills they
need to be successful. These skills include proficiency in the Microsoft
Office 2007 Suite, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and
Publisher, as well as the typing skills needed to use these programs.
