This is my 7th year teaching and my second year of teaching at Stony
Point 9th Grade Center. I am excited about my new title as science
collaborative teacher and I look forward to helping out all of the teachers
this year with planning interdisciplinary lessons that prepare students for
the real world. Since I only have two classes, I can go over and beyond to
make sure all of my students are successful.
I graduated from Trinity University in 2003 with a B.S. in Geosciences. Upon
completion of my degree, I decided that teaching would be an excellent
opportunity for me. I loved teaching so much that I enrolled at UTSA to
complete my Masters in Education with a concentration in Curriculum and
Instruction. I finished my Masters the summer of 2008, where I came to work
at Stony Point 9th Grade Center. I have enjoyed my time here and it will be
sad to see this campus close because of the excellence the permeates through
the walls. Last year we made it to Recognized status. This year I am sure
we will make it to Exemplary status.
I hope the best for all of my students. I want all of them to be successful
in my class as well as all future endeavors. I will do whatever it takes to
make sure all of my students will receive the knowledge they need to be
successful on their TAKS and to make intelligent decisions throughout their
lives.
