What materials do I need?
Everyday you need to bring with you a 3 - ring binder, blank paper, and
something to write with (pen or pencil). Please leave your text book at
home - I have a class set for us to use. Also, you are welcome to bring a
TI-83 grpahing calculator if you like, but it is not required
How will my grade be broken down?
Your grade is made up of three parts: tests and projects, quizzes, and daily
grades. You will have 2 tests and one project per six weeks. Quizzes
happen all the time, but are usually unannounced so make sure you study.
Lastly, daily grades include homework, class work, warm-ups, and anything
else we do that isn't a test, project, or quiz.
How do you grade homework?
You will be assigned homework every time we meet. Your assignment will be
due the following class. You will check your answers while I will check to
see how many you tried to do. If you tried every problem honestly, showed
your work, and your work supports your answer, you will earn a 100. Once
I've checked everyones homework we will discuss, as a class, any problems
that a student has a question on. I don't expect you to do every problem
right the first time but I do expect you to TRY.
May I turn in late work?
Yes, you may, but only until the chapter test. After the chapter test all
assignments will be taken down from the web site and your work will NOT be
accepted. Also, late work will not be given a grade higher than a 70.
I was absent. How do I get my make up work?
Grades are posted on the far side of the room. Check to see which ones you
missed while you were gone (they all have the date assigned next to them).
On the counter by the door are file folders with each assignment from the
unit. Feel free to help yourself to a copy of whatever you missed.
