At the end of each nine weeks, your child will have the opportunity to earn
several different dog tag awards for academic achievement with in the
classroom. Your child will be recognized for their achievements at an awards
assembly in our TVE cafeteria. Listed below are the various academic awards
that your child can strive to achieve this year:

MATH AWARD
Your child will be able to earn two different math awards this year. Below is
a brief description / example and the requirements that we have set for these
awards:
1. Your child must be able to model a 3 digit number in at least THREE
different ways.
For example, if the number was 325, your child could do the following to show
their mastery of this skill:
- Draw the number using base ten blocks or drawing a simple picture
- Coming up with an addition or subtraction number sentence (335 - 10 = 325)
- Writing out the number in word form (three hundred and twenty five)
- Write the entire fact family
2. Your child must be able to come up with THREE different ways that they can
represent a certain amount using coins only.
- For example, if the amount is $1.25, your child must be able to show three
different ways that they can make the amount using DIFFERENT coins.
EXAMPLE-
1. 4 quarters, 2 dimes, and 1 nickel
2. 2 half dollars and 1 quarter
3. 4 quarters, 4 nickels, and 5 pennies
