September PicturesSeptember has been a busy month! In social studies we did a unit on maps and did a project called "Me on the Map." We learned about our world, our continent, our country, our state, and our city. We colored maps of each of these and placed a star where we are located on each map.
Campbell, Daniela, and Iyanu did a fantastic job on their maps!
Here is one of the Me on the Map projects up close.
![]() In science we began learning about the scientific process and did an experiment on predicting and measuring. We called it our Gummy Bear Experiment. First, we each got to pick a gummy bear and observe and measure it. We charted our data on our worksheet. Then, we placed our gummy bears in a cup of water to soak over night. We made our predictions about our gummy bears. Some kids thought that the gummy bears would get bigger or smaller, some thought the water would change the color of the gummy bear, and some thought that the gummy bears would disappear.
![]() When we came in the next morning, we checked out our gummy bears and they had grown a lot! The water was also tinted the same color as the gummy bear.
![]() That afternoon, we took out our enlarged gummy bears to measure them again.

![]() Then, we got to touch the enlarged gummy bears to see how they felt. They felt kind of like slimy jello!
