We change the number of the day, talk about place value, add the number to the hundreds chart, and do time and money using our number. We also talk about the date and discover patterns in the calendar tags.</div> <div><img src="http://teacherweb.com/TX/ThelmaJonesElementary/MrsCoots/classroomcalendar.jpg" alt="classroomcalendar.jpg" border="0" /></div> <div><br /> </div> <div>Our Reading Fluency bulletin board is a place to show off our reading skills. Our goal by the end of the year is to read 90 words per minute. We will practice by taking weekly fluency tests and keeping track of our progress on our cow charts.</div> <div><img src="http://teacherweb.com/TX/ThelmaJonesElementary/MrsCoots/classroomreading.jpg" alt="classroomreading.jpg" border="0" /><br /> <br /> <div>Here is our classroom library. The ranch hand jobs change weekly and everyone will get a turn at each job. Underneath the jobs are our Star Groups. Each colored table has a chance to earn "superstars" for good behavior. Above the desk are our Reading Counts hats. This student will get to fill out the Cowpoke of the Week board with their favorite things. They may bring pictures, ribbons, certificates, etc. to decorate the board with.
