The 200 club is a set of strategies, in the baseball theme, that teaches the
students how to best solve a math problem. The students who use these
strategies faithfully tend to do much better on their work and the TAKS test.
First Base-Read the story, underline the question, and eliminate extra
information.
Second Base-Use a visual aid, picture, diagram, or chart to solve the
problem.
Third Base-Write a number sentence and the corresponding fact families.
Home Plate-Check your work by using a different strategy or tool.
