What do I do if my child has a transportation change?
This is VERY important: Please make sure to call the office as soon as
possible. If you get Miss Ambyr's voicemail, press 0 to be connected with
the office. You may not change your child's mode of transportation by word
of mouth through your child. If you send a note, please make sure it is in
your child's hand or very visible in their daily folder.
How can I get in touch with my child's teacher?
You can email Miss Blount at rachel_blount@roundrockisd.org or call the
school at 512.424.8700. Most calls are not put through except for her
conference period from 9:45-10:35. Please remember that our day is short and
we have a lot to learn.
What do I do if I want to schedule a conference?

What do I do if I want to volunteer in my child's classroom?
Union Hill teachers LOVE volunteers. Make sure to fill out the volunteer
form your child's teacher gives you at the beginning of the year. you can
volunteer as a room parent, reader, center helper, home helper or computer
lab helper. The jobs are endless and teachers appreciate all the help they
can get! Please contact your child's teacher, preferably by email about
voluteering. You will need to fill out a form in the office as well.

Can I eat lunch with my child at school?
You are more than welcome to visit your child for lunch. Please check in at
the office. Our lunch time is 1o:55-11:25. If you are bringing a special
lunch for your child, be sure to be on time. If your child has no lunch, we
will send him or her through the cafeteria line. You may buy an adult lunch
for $2.50 as well.
What day are library books due?
Your child's library day will vary from year to year and teacher to teacher.
As long as he or she returns the book each day, another can me checked out.
Round Rock ISD has an excellent policy for checking out books which puts
more books in kids hands every day! Please take advantage of this
opportunity!
How do I get lunch money into my child's account?
You can write a check, send cash, or go online to put money in your child's
school lunch account. It is preferred that you write a check or go online to

Do kindergarteners have nap time?
Yes, during the first semester only. Please send a towel to school in your
child's backpack. The towel needs to be small enough to fit in their
backpack at all times with a folder and a lunchkit if needed. We rest for 30-
45 minutes after lunch. Don't worry if your child is not a "napper". They
are not required to go to sleep. We listen soft music and stories so
everyone gets a chance to relax. School is HARD WORK!
What kind of shoes does my child need to wear?
All kindergarteners go to Art, Music, and P.E. throughout the week. We also
have recess every day. You will get a schedule that will give you more
information about your child's schedule and what days he or she has
different specials. It is much safer to send your child to school in tennis
shoes everyday.
