I grew up in both the Sierra Nevada mountains and the coast of California.
As I kid I spent a lot of time skiing and surfing and still love to be
outdoors. School was fun for me,reading, writing and science were some of
my favorite subjects and still are.
During my junior year of college I went to Morelia, Mexico on a study abroad
program to take intensive Spanish language classes. While on this trip I
became enchanted with the language and culture of Mexico. I
graduated from U.C. Santa Cruz in 1997 with a B.A. in Literature and after
graduation I moved back to Morelia to teach English as a second language.
I met my husband in Morelia and it was there that we adopted our yellow lab,
Puma. We moved to Texas two years ago from California and are enjoying this
beautiful state.
This will be my 6th year teaching, I have taught both 2nd and 4th grade.
Teaching is my career of choice, and I feel blessed to have such wonderful
students every year!
Yo viví en las montañas de la Sierra Nevada hasta que tenía 12 años y
después me cambie a la costa de California. De niña pase mucho tiempo
esquiando y surfeando, aun me encanta estar en la naturaleza. La escuela fue
divertida para mí, pero algunas veces fue difícil (especialmente
ortografía). Lectura, escritura y ciencias fueron algunas de mis materias
preferidas. En la universidad de Santa Cruz en California yo estudie
literatura y español.
Durante mi tercer año en la universidad yo fui a
Morelia, Michoacán México por medio de un programa de intercambio para tomar
clases intensivas de español. Durante este intercambio, quedé impresionada
con el lenguaje y la cultura de México. Después regrese para terminar mis
estudios en la universidad de Santa Cruz, CA y me gradué en 1997 con un
titulo en literatura. Después de mi graduación regrese a Morelia para
ensenar ingles como segunda lengua. Eventualmente regrese a California para
enseñar y hacer una maestría en educación. Este año será mi sexto enseñando,
yo he ensenado segundo y cuarto grado. Educación es mi carrera que he
escogido y me siento bendecida, además es un privilegio tener cada año a
nuevos y maravillosos estudiantes!
