I am very excited to be the full-time TAG specialist at Union Hill
Elementary. This is my eighth year to be part of the Union Hill family.
My career began in Austin ISD teaching kindergarten and first grade. I then
taught first grade for Bryan ISD. I have taught TAG for Round Rock ISD for
23 years.
I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Texas, and my
graduate degree from Texas A&M. By the way, I will never tell whether I am
orange or maroon blooded. The Texas Education Agency requires 30 hours of
training to teach Talented and Gifted. In addition to completing
this requirement, I have the Talented and Gifted teaching certificate.
My daughter is working toward her master's degree in business administration
at Texas State University. My miniature dachshund, Isabel, and I like to take
a walk every day. My hobbies are hiking, dancing, reading, and playing the
flute and piccolo.
One of the most thrilling experiences of my life was riding with my daughter
in a dog sled on an Alaskan glacier. We even had a chance to stand at the
back of the sled and operate the brake! What a rush of adrenalin!
