What is the best way to contact Mrs. White?

What's the deal with those agenda's?

Students are expected to write down the daily agendas from each of their
classes (including what was done throughout the day and what homework they
have). They get checked each day by their Learning Lab teachers. We are
asking that you look at your child's agenda each night and sign it, so that
we are in a constant triangle of communication. The agenda's written in
your child's planner should look something like that posted on our
websites.

Where can I find information about notes taken in class?

Most class notes will be posted on my website under Assignment
Information. You will need to have Powerpoint on your computer to view
most of the notes. Please email me if you do not have Powerpoint on your
computer or if you have an older version of what is posted and you are
having difficulties viewing my presentations.

What materials should be brought to class each day?

Students should bring their pencil bags holding writing utensils, a pencil
sharpener, and scissors (tape/mini-staplers are optional but welcome).
Students will be using their science
journal on a daily basis. Journals are to be kept in class unless the student
wishes to bring it home for review and it is the students responsibility to
bring it back to class the NEXT DAY. Students are also expected to bring
their planner/agenda to class and write down the daily work/homework.

A sign will be posted outside the classroom on days in which students are
expected to bring their textbook to class. Students DO NOT have to bring
their book to class every day, however, if a student does not come to class
with their textbook when it is needed, they will have to use a hall pass to
get it from their locker.

What are the homework expectations?

Homework is expected to be in on time. Late work will have a 10 point
deduction each day it is late. Homework is posted on my website and updated at
least once a week. Also, the Home Access Center (HAC) is a great way to access
your grades.
Please contact the office for a password.

What if I am going to be absent?

It will be the responsibility of the student to collect their missed work or
notes. Any missed work will be housed in the Warm-Up/Absent Work Folder
(organized by class period and table number). If the student has questions
about the work, they are expected to ask a fellow classmate first and if
further clarification is needed, Mrs. White. The student will have the same
amount of days missed to
make up the work.

What if I get below a 70 on an assignment/test?

Any time a student earns a grade below 70 on tests or assignments, they will
have the opportunity to make corrections and increase their grade up to a 70
if completion is successful. Students will be expected to continue working on
the task in which they did not pass to maximize understanding of the material.
On a test, students are REQUIRED to make corrections, include "this answer is
correct, because...", and have a parent signature on the corrected work.
