Science Fair/Science Night

Walsh Science Fair Competitors! You should have visited in the library with Ms. Pearce about the Rule Wizard and know what are your specific forms. All of you will need to have your required forms 1, 1A, and 1B turned into Ms. Pearce ASAP. Also you will need to complete the basic research plan which includes your question or problem you are researching, your goals/expected outcome/hypothesis, and a description and details of the method or procedure you plan on following. I will also need to know how you will be representing your data. At this point no data should have been gathered. Our committee will need to approve your paperwork prior to experimentation. You will bring your booklet to school and turn it in to Ms. Pearce, room 535 no later than Nov. 2, 2011. I will sign and return it to you as soon as possible. Once you have received your Regional booklet back you may begin gathering data. You may need to run a practice or trial run to work out the kinks in your procedure. Remember that researching background information is a requirement. Instructions can be found in your handbook on page 30 for bibliographic entries; you will need a minimum of five. If you are dealing with humans, vertebrate animals, potentially hazardous materials (biological, chemical) or dangerous devices you must complete the subsection for each. Instruction are located on page 30. Our due date is December 2, 2011. You will not need to bring your project in until December 2, 2011 for the regional qualifying contest, the Walsh Science Fair.
