About Mrs. Fauver

Teaching

Howdy! My name is Kellie Fauver. I am a graduate of The University of Houston. My degree is a BS in Interdisciplinary Education. My educational specializations were in English and Earth/Life Sciences. I suppose it was destiny that I have a career in teaching. My grandfather taught for 47 years and I have two aunts that still teach. Throughout my thirteen years in teaching I have come to love history. Altogether I have six state certifications. I just love to learn about new things. In my class, I hope to instill a thirst for learning about the interesting stories and events that have shaped our world. This year, I am the teamleader for Team Penn. I am looking forward to another year of opportunities to take on a leadership role in the school's community. We Are WALSH!

Family

My husband, James and I have been married for 12 years. We moved to Austin six years ago from Houston. It was hard to leave since I had lived there all my life. But, we felt that Austin would be a good place to raise our now 8½ year old son, TiJim. His real name is actually James II… his nickname comes from my family’s Cajun background. ‘Ti’ is French for small or little and ‘Jim’ is of course short for James. My husband and I just love watching our son learn and play. He is quite hilarious and loving. He returned to playing tackle football this Fall. Starting 3rd grade, we are all excited to see him do well.

Summer Fun

This summer my son and I drove to St. Louis to pick up my two nieces and one of my nephews. While we were there, we went up in the St. Louis Arch. Did you know it is one of the tallest monuments in all the United States? It is even taller than the Statue of Liberty!

Swimming

Our family spent a large part of the summer at the pool. I know... big surprise. However, being part of the swim team in our neighborhood gave us the ability to be at the pool even when the 'general public' is locked out.
