Jan 03, 2012,
Welcome to the second semester! I hope you all had a wonderful and joyous
break and are ready to begin the new year.
Recently, the 7th grade Accel's curriculum has some major adjustment to meet
the state's STAAR test. Our 7th grade Accel Wildcats will be taking the 8th
grade STAAR math test at the end of March and our 7th grade Algebra Wildcats
will be taking the 7th grade STAAR math test at the end of April. Please be
aware of this change, so you can make your plans accordingly at that time.
Because the Texas Education Agency is constantly making these adjustments to
meet the needs of our students' learning, I will keep you posted of their
updates.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions regarding these
STAAR tests.

Parents/Guardian,
Our first six weeks report card will be distributed on Thursday, Oct 6th. If
your child has an Incomplete on the report, it will be replaced with a grade
once he/she has made up any missing assignments due to being absent. The
grade won't be seen until 2nd Six weeks IPR period. Please check with the
individual teacher for your child's grades.
If you are unsatisfied with your child's grade(s) this recording period,
please have a heart-to-heart talk with your child about the many ways that
you and I can help him or her improve this next six weeks. There are many
opportunities and resources available. We just need the child to indicate the
help and show the effort in trying.
Team 7-2 would like to thank you for your support in working with us in
creating a wonderful learning environment for your child this year! A big
Walsh Woohoo to you all!

Parents and Guardians,
Our Wildcats just received their first Progress Report for the first six
weeks on 9.15.11. Please take a look at it to see how they're doing in all
their classes, discuss it with them your concern if any, and sign the report
so they can return the copy within 3 days of receipt.
Since the grades reflect a work-in-progress, it may have already been changed
from the time the teachers submitted them to the present. I encourage you to
register with our HAC, home access center, to see your child's grades at any
time.
Please don't hesitate to ask if you have questions concerning your child's
learning.

Parents and Wildcats,
Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year! I will be your child's 7th grade math
teacher for the Philosophers University Team 7-2. This teacherweb and the
team's weekly newsletter are great ways to inform you with what is happening
in our classroom. Please feel free to contact me at any time with your
concerns, questions or comments.
Our class will begin the first day of school on Tuesday, August 23rd going
over classroom rules and expectations. The course syllabus and student
contact information forms will be sent home for you to read and fill out.
Please complete, sign and return only the contact information sheet by the
end of the first week. A copy of both of these forms will be available under
the homework link in case your child has lost the original copies.
At Walsh Middle School, we continually strive to incorporate the use of
technology into our learning process. You and your child will have access to
our math textbook online as a reference source. There will also be videos
available to help your child with any missed math concepts. The site is
updated weekly and new materials will be added constantly. Please use it as
often as it's a great resource for both parents and students.
I look forward to working with each of you in making this a GREAT year for
your child in learning math!
