Rules of Conduct

A folder will be sent home every day in order to keep you informed of your child's behavior.  In our classroom each student has a clothespin and everyone starts on blue.   When a student makes a good choice, he/she may be allowed to move their pin up one color to purple.  A second good choice allows the student to move up to pink.
If a child does not follow directions, a reminder will be given to the student that he/she needs to follow directions.  If the child continues the behavior, then the student will move his/her pin to green for a warning.  If the behavior persists, he/she will move their clip to yellow and have an in-class time-out for an appropriate lenght of time.  In the third instance, the pin will be moved to red and the child will go to another teacher's class for an additional time-out.  If the behavior happens again the child will be sent to the office to visit with Mr. Whitlock.  The assistant principal and/or teacher will notify parents.

Our classroom rules are developed by the class when we make a social contract.  The contract is signed by all students and discussed often during class to ensure everyone knows our classroom expectations.
