2011 begins my 14th year of teaching and my 9th here in Friendswood. I
graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1998, with a
specialization in early childhood and reading. Over the years I have had
the opportunity to be a part of Alvin ISD where I also taught 1st grade, and
Nacogdoches ISD where I taught 3rd and then 2nd grade. Needless to say I
have had a taste of several grade levels and know that first grade is where
I am supposed to be.
My husband Brian and I love calling Friendswood home. We are the proud parents of a precious little
girl named, Sarah Ryleigh. She will be turning one in October.
After so many years as a first grade teacher I have a very strong understanding of the mind of 6 and
7 year olds. I know each comes to me with different strengths and needs and I know what it takes to
get them to where they need to be by the end of the year.
With this in mind I strive daily to provide a challenging curriculum that
meets the needs of each individual child.
I also strongly believe that you are only in first grade once! I try to
provide many "special moments" throughout the year that won't easily be
forgotten. I want my children to leave with fun and happy memories that will
last a lifetime!
