SPELLING
On Monday your child will bring home a paper called a WORD RECORDING SHEET. This is the spelling
list for the week. You can also refer to the peek in which I list the word wall words and the spelling
words. There will always be 15 words on the list.

We will continue the same secret story from last week - just the OU spelling instead of the OW
spelling/sound.
The "secret story" to this skill is - These letters(ou/ow) play very rough when they get together, and
one
of them always gets hurt, and cries - oooooooowwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!
(as in:out, about, cow, how, brown, etc...)
Alternative sound
If 'ow' doesn't seem to be following the rules' in some words, and making the "ooowww" sound, it's
probably because 'ow' looked up in the sky and spotted 'super hero o' flying over their heads,
prompting them to SAY HIS NAME!!!! Look....it's o-o-o-o-o-o!!!!
