Grading guidelines for Band at both Willow Wood and Northpointe are the same as those established by
Tomball ISD.
Major grades make up 70% of a student's final average, with daily grades making up the remaining 30%.
We will take a minimum of 10 grades per six weeks grading period, with at least three of those grades
being major grades.
For late work that is being counted as a Major Grade, the following
penalties will apply for late work:
1 day late = 15 point deduction
2 days late = 30 point deduction
3 days late = grade of 0
For class work due during a given class period, incomplete assignments will be graded accordingly.
All performances are required for band students involved. Performances are each worth a major grade. If
a student misses a performance with an unexcused absence, he or she will be offered a make-up
assignment and the opportunity to replace the grade of "0" earned for the performance with a grade up
to a 65, depending upon completion of the make-up assignment.
