2012-2013 marks Jim Shaw's sixth year as the Director of Bands at Willow Wood Junior
High School. Mr. Shaw has also held head band director positions at In Klein and Midland ISD's.
Mr. Shaw is the lead teacher for the beginning band program at Northpointe Intermediate. He also
conducts the award-winning Willow Wood Honor Band, assists with the Symphonic Band, and co-
teaches the Concert Band. Bands under Mr. Shaw's direction have consistently earned first
division ratings and other awards, including Best in Class at the Hub City, South Coast, and
Wonder of the Woods band festivals.
A contributing editor to The Instrumentalist magazine, Mr. Shaw holds memberships in the
Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Bandmasters Association, the Texas Music
Adjudicators Association, and Phi Beta Mu International Band Honor Fraternity. He holds both
Bachelors and Masters degrees from West Texas A&M University.
Edgar Jaime joins the Willow Wood band staff in 2012-2013. In addition to teaching
beginning brass classes at Northpointe, his responsibilities include conducting the Willow Wood
Symphonic Band, assisting with the Honor Band, and co-teaching the Concert Band.
An accomplished trumpet player, Mr. Jaime is a graduate of Sam Houston State University and
holds a Masters degree in performance from Southern Methodist University. He previously taught
privately in the Houston, Lewisville, and Plano areas and formed the Plano East Bras Band, an
ensemble consisting of members in grades 7-12 designed to promote brass artistry and
fellowship.
