Just a reminder that our Halloween parties are tomorrow. They will begin at 2:00 and end at 2:45. We would love to have each and every one of you attend the party. I know it would mean so much to the kids. If you do attend the party, and wish to take your child home early, that is perfectly fine.
 
The students may wear their costumes tomorrow, however, the costumes must meet normal dress code standards, and there may be no weapons of any kind. This includes toy weapons. Masks can be worn only during the party.
 
We are having a DLR quiz tomorrow. Also, their thinking notes for reading and their poem read aloud is due to me as well. These were both assigned on October 22, so they have had plenty of time to complete the work and work on the poem. The poem is an oral presentation to me only and they do NOT have to memorize it. They are simply graded on fluency and expression.

In the next few weeks, we will be reading the book Because of Winn Dixie. There will be several other 4th grade classes reading this as well. Due to the fact that the school only owns 1 classroom set, I am asking any parents who would like to purchase a copy for their own student to feel free to do so. I am sending home a Scholastic order form in the Tuesday folders, and you can order it through them this month for only $3. This is strictly optional, we can certainly share with the other classes if necessary. It just makes it much easier on the students to have their own copy.
