Notes from the PTO President

December 6, 2009

Dear Wolfe Families,

It is incredible how quickly time goes by. We are half way into the school year and many wonderful events have passed, it has been a great first half of the school year. I would like to thank all board members and chair coordinators for their endless work on the their various tasks. Without your hard work and dedication many events could not be possible.

WOW! Where do I begin? Our attendance for our Welcome Coffee was awesome. It was great to meet many of the new families at Wolfe. Dad's, hope you enjoyed Donuts with Dad. What a great turn out, thank you for coming. Thank you families who supported our Birthday Card Campaign and coin collection. Your efforts helped raise almost $3,000. and our first donation to the library for new books was presented at PTO's first General Board Meeting on October 22nd. Our highlight of course was Wolfe's 40th Birthday Celebration. What a memorable night it was and how fortunate we were to have Mr. Wolfe with us to commemorate the event. Red Ribbon was a SMASH!! Wolfe students enjoyed the parade and rally. Thanks to all home room moms for a great job on the doors; how creative they were. Our cookie dough numbers were EXCELLENT this year. Thank you for supporting this fundraiser. This income is vital in maintaining and assisting PTO's ongoing costs as well as assisting in providing extra resources for the student's and school. "Muffins with Mom" was sensational also. What a special touch to have Santiago Basaldua, Dave Funk, Steve Macrae and Mark Lahr help serve our wonderful mom's. Our garage sale was the most profitable one yet. A special thanks to Jan Evans, Mary Ferguson, Carla Rypien and Mrs. Terence for their endless hours of time. This month, we look forward to Gingerbread Week. Student's will start on December 8th and finish up on the 11th. Please come out and help in decorating the BIG Gingerbread House and of course help is always needed with your student's class. Click "Gingerbread Week" to find the schedule.

Please feel free to approach me at any time with any great ideas, questions, or concerns at 713-875-9667 or at jmvarcados@sbcglobal.net. My best wish's to you all for a very Merry Christmas and a safe holiday.

Sincerely,

Maria Varcados
