Our Second Vice President Marlene McLane
is in charge of Membership and Volunteers. We encourage all to join. Click on
the link below for the form. The fee is $10.00 per family. This assists in the
daily running of the organization. PTO provides support for teachers, staff
and extra programs and activities for students.
We also need volunteers for the 2009-2010
school year! Click on the link below to print the membership form and sign up
to participate at your child’s school. We need committee chairs as well.
Return the form with your student to school. Your participation is the key to
the schools success.
Please email Marlene with any questions at marlene_mclane@hotmail.com.
PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) is only available
for parents and teachers. Joining PTO simply requires filling out the form and
a $10.00 fee. Many people ask what is the difference between PTA and PTO. To

PTO Volunteer Form
Are you volunteering today?
That’s a question all visitors will hear
every time they enter the building this year. Why? Because the days of
counting our on-campus, school day volunteer hours by notebook are long
gone! Katy ISD has launched a new initiative that tallies on-campus
volunteer hours through our Raptor system.
Off-campus, after-hours time
will still be collected by our campus Volunteer Coordinator via the volunteer
hours log book in front of the front office or e-Mail, as in the past.
So, when you visit campus to volunteer,
be it for the workroom, library, volunteer meetings, class parties, attendance
office, hospitality, Junior Achievement, KEYS mentoring, or any other
volunteer function, your time in the building will be automatically tallied.
All you have to do is answer “Yes!” with a smile.
VIPs
(Volunteers in Public Schools)
Did you know that you don't have to join PTO
in order to volunteer? If you are interested in volunteering please:
Record Your Hours!!!!
Why do I have to record my hours?
There are several reasons why recording your hours
is important. The number of hours recorded by our volunteers helps us evaluate
the success of the VIPs program. Documentation of volunteer hours may allow
your campus to qualify for awards and corporate grants, and it reflects your
commitment to Katy ISD and its students.
