SPANISH 1    3RD QUARTER

Jan 17         Finish Aladdin taking notes Spanish - English.
                   Exchange notes with as many classmates as possible to expand your list.

Jan 18         Test on Aladdin vocabulary.
                    Correct test in class.
                     Hand in vocabulary lists with the test.

Jan 19         Introduce Chapter 3A (Food)
                  Written Activities from Chapter 3A starting on page 129:  Acts. 6,11,12,14,15 & 18.

                  Act. 6 -  Do problem #2 writing a sentence for each beverage telling how often you
                                 you drink those beverages.  A model is provided in italics.  There will be
                                 7 sentences.

                  Act. 11 -  Answer each question in a complete sentence.  Note that there are 3 problems,
                                 but there are 4 questions, so you need to have 4 COMPLETE sentences.

                  Act. 12 -  Follow the italicized model saying what each person is sharing with whom.
                                 You have to conjugate the verb compartir to make it agree with the different 
                                  subjects.  Refer to the chart above Act. 12.

                  Act. 14 -  Number from 1-8.  Select the correct verb and write the appropriate form of 
                                 of that verb as your answer.  ANSWERS DO NOT END IN "ER" OR "IR".
                                   Refer to page 132 for the correct conjugation..

                  Act. 15 -  Make a chart like the model.  Write 3 foods you eat for breakfast in the upper
                                 left-hand corner box.  Write 3 beverages you drink for breakfast in the upper
                                 right-hand corner box.  Write 3 foods you eat for lunch in the lower left-hand
                                 corner box and write 3 beverages you drink for lunch in the lower right-hand
                                 corner box.

                  Act. 18 -  Follow the model and write a sentence for each picture telling how much you 
                                  do or don't like the foods in the picture.

Jan 20         Continue the written Activities that started on page 129.

Jan 23         Finish written Activities 6,11,12,14,15, & 18.
                  Correct written Activities
                  Hand in the corrected activities.

Jan 24        3A-1 to 3A-8 (minus 3A-4 and 3A-6) Study Guide for Test Chapter 3A.

Jan 25         Finish 3A-1 to 3A-8 (minus 2)

Jan 26         Hand in 3A-1 to 3A-8 (minus 2)
                  Test Chapter 3A

Jan 27         Correct Test Chapter 3A.
                  Hand in the corrected test.

Jan 30         Read pages 148-149 for vocabulary identification of Chapter 3B (p. 168)
                    Read assigned panel on pages 150-151.  Report to class with pronunciation 
                     and translation of the panel.

Jan 31         Oral Activities starting on page 153: Acts. 6, 7, 8, 11, 13, 14, 18 & 20.
   
Feb 1         Written Activities starting on page 152: Activities 4, 13, 14, 15, & 17.

                   Act 4 -  Write the expression that does NOT belong and then write a replacement
                                 expression that does belong just like the model in italics.

                   
Act 13 -  Write a sentence like the model telling what two famous people or people
                                 in your school or two cartoon characters are like  Be sure to make the 
                                 adjective agree in number (singular or plural) and gender (masculine or 
                                 feminine).  You should have a total of 8 sentences all starting with Creo
                                 que (I think that).

                  Act 14 -  Ask and answer four separate questions based on the food group of fruit,
                                 vegetables, meats, and drinks in the chart.  Be sure to follow the model.

                  Act 15 -  Number from 1-9.  Write the correct CONJUGATED FORM of the verb

found on the top of page 158.

                  Act 17 -  Write a sentence like the italicized model describing the people and places
                                 in your school.  Note in the model that "your" in question changes to "my" 
                                 in the answer.

Feb 2         Finish Written Activities 4, 13, 14, 15, & 17.  Show Sr. McBride the completed 
                  assignment to pick up 3B-1 to 3B-8, the review packet for the Test on Chapter 3B.

Feb 3         Correct Activities 4, 13, 14, 15, & 17.
                  Hand in the corrected assignment.

Feb 6         Finish 3B-1 to 3B-8.  Be sure you understand all of the vocabulary and all of the 
                  concepts.

Feb 7         Review for the test on Chapter 3B in a group competition.

Feb 8         Hand in 3B-1 to 3B-8.
                  Test on Chapter 3B.

Feb 9         Correct Test on Chapter 3B.
                  Hand in the corrected test.
