Students should be finished with the color glazes in their still life and be introducing the opaque colors into their paintings. They should also be thinking about objects that they would like to include in their surreal paintings and settings. They should draw from things that they like or dislike, as well as their dreams to create images and settings for their paintings.

Week 7

Monochromatic paintings are due at the end of the week. Students will continue to work on still life paintings. We will be studying about Dada and Surrealism. Students will find "readymade" objects that they find intriguing to bring to class and turn them into "works of art" by giving them a title, perhaps juxtaposing them with another object, and finding an interesting way to display them.
