About The Teacher

I attended George Mason University where I received my Bachelors of Science
degree in Psychology, with an emphasis in Child Development. During that time
I gained experience teaching at the Pre-school levelfor three years. Following
my studies, I taught 9th Grade Special Education at Osbourn High Schoool in
Manassas City. Though my tenure was brief, due to my desire to stay home and
raise my own children, my experience there solidified my deep love of
teaching. While at home I volunteered as a 2nd and 3rd grade Sunday School
teacher for the Islamic Academy of the Muslim Association of Virginia, as well
as having served as the Curriculum Coordinator for the school. I have helped
extensively in the development of their Islamic Studies and Arabic curriculum,
as well as in the improvement of school policies.
I am now in my fourth year teaching with Al-Fatih Academy's dynamic and
inspiring educational team as the second grade teacher.
I am currently a second-year Masters student in Marymount University's
Graduate School of Education. This program may require that I have periodic
absences in order to complete observation hours in the public school, but
promises to provide me with an extensive education in educational theory and
pedagogy.
