Welcome! I am excited to be starting my
fifth year of teaching at Amelia Elementary. I have had the privilege of
teaching 2nd grade for the past four years. I look forward to being your
child's reading teacher this year!!
Students will have spelling homework
Monday-Thursday. They will have a spelling test every FRIDAY. Students should
also be reading every night, either from one of their textbooks or from the
library book. Other homework will be assigned as needed. Please check your
child's agenda NIGHTLY and INTIAL it. All homework will be written in agendas
and all important papers will be placed in the plastic pocket in the front of
the agenda. I expect homework to be done and returned to school the next day.
Students have the opportunity to be in the
110 Spelling Club each week. Students who get a perfect score on their test
will be in the Spelling Club the following week. They will get to place a star
on the sticker 110 Spelling Club chart and receive a trip to the candy jar!
After they recieve 10 stickers, Ms. MacCabe will purchase them a ice cream!
Students are graded DAILY on Independent Work.
These grades go home daily. Please check your child's agenda to find their
worksheets.
The grading scale is as follows:

2 errors- 89 B
3 errors- 80 C
