Dear Second Grade Parents and Guardians,

    Welcome to the world of reading in 2nd grade! Students in the second grade will be given a variety of reading assessment measures throughout the year to closely monitor their progress.  Some of these are coordinated through my office; other tests are administered and monitored by the homeroom and reading teachers.  The following chart will provide you with a general guideline for the reading assessment program.  Our goal is to enable your child to become the best reader he/she can become.  When a child is successful, reading will become an enjoyable experience.  Please contact us whenever we can assist you as parents and guardians in this process.  Your role is invaluable to your child's success.
