| Dear Fristler Families,
Here we are, a week from sending these wonderful children off to seventh
grade. We are really feeling some sadness thinking about not seeing them
everyday. We'll sure miss them.
The SOL tests have concluded, and we're very pleased with the thoughtfulness
and concentration your children gave them. It will probably be a while
before we know anything about the results. Some time during the summer, or
even as late as the beginning of the school year, the results will be mailed
home.
With schools closed Monday, we here's an idea of the schedule for next week:
Tuesday - This is a normal day.
Wednesday - In the morning, we will watch our team DVD (a flyer for
purchasing a copy came home with your child today) and spend the rest of the
day at the pool. Remember to talk to your child about sunscreen, swimming
restrictions, snacks, etc. The more extra clothes that day, the better.
After swimming for a few hours plus a solid 20 minute walk each way, they'll
come home tired!!!
Thursday - In the morning will be the Spring Fling. This is like a mini
field day. Your child has signed up for some activities involving art,
games, or sports. The PTA is providing this activity for all of the sixth
graders. During Flex they will get their yearbooks, but have to give them
back at the end of the day. Think about if your son or daugher will want
new/special markers for signing yearbooks.
Friday - Yearbooks will be given back to the students in the morning ... this
time for good. Because this is also an early release, all the classes are
shortened. Before lunch will be a normal schedule. After lunch will be back
on team until they leave us for good. Then we'll send them on with heavy
hearts.
For academics and grades, ... the only thing left for your child to turn in
next week is their science notebooks. They are due Wednesday.
If there are any final thoughts or questions, let us know.
Gretchen & Mark
