Spelling and reading homework is sent home in the Homework folder every
Monday. It is to be returned on Friday. Spelling words may also be accessed
on the spellingcity link. When your child brings home the weekly reading
assignment on Monday, please begin to work on the first story on Monday and
Tuesday. You may begin the second story on Wednesday. The first selection is
a phonics story that builds fluency and decoding skills. The second
selection - or main story - introduces context clues, stresses
comprehension, and practices the high-frequency vocabulary words for the
week.
