Dear CLC Families, As CLC has partnered with you in the education goals for
your child(ren), we would also like to partner with you in honoring their
accomplishments in what matters most, Godly character. Annually, CLC’s
presents Five Character Awards (please see below). We are asking that the
parents, grandparents, mentors, and high school teachers nominate a student
(it may be your own child) for one or several of the awards mentioned below.
Please email to ddegree@comcast.net a brief paragraph which highlights why you
believe the student should receive the award. The deadline will be Week 25.
After receiving all the nominations, the high school teachers, the
Administrative Staff (Desiree & Dona), and a parent representative will cast
their votes. The student (s) who receive the most votes will receive the award.
CLC’s Five Character Awards:
Joshua Award - The Joshua Award is given to two students who have
exemplified the characteristics of a faithful leader. The students will have
illustrated a desire to lead and influence others. The students will also have
demonstrated excellent management and organizational skills.
Solomon Award - The Solomon Award is given to two students who have
exemplified wisdom and discernment. The students will have also demonstrated
wise judgment and prudence. The students will have also illustrated
sharp-witted and insightful decision making abilities.
Abraham Award- The Abraham Award is given to two students who have
exemplified genuine faith. The students will have demonstrated courage and
tenacity regardless of the circumstances. The students will also have shown
confidence, conviction, and optimism.
Samaritan Award – The Samaritan Award is given to two students who have
exemplified the characteristics of a servants heart and compassion. The
students will have demonstrated a generous and considerate attitude. The
students will also have shown friendliness and helpfulness.
Daniel Award – The Daniel Award is given to two students who have
exemplified courage and tenacity. The students will have demonstrated a
dauntless spirit and endurance. The students will also have shown
determination and resoluteness.
