Volunteering at Epes


Three for Me--A Little Means a Lot!

Studies show that involved parents are a key factor in their child's success at school. Our goal at Epes is to provide an opportunity for each parent to participate in some way to make Epes an extraordinary experience for their child and their family.  We are asking you to dedicate just three hours of your time to the school this year--this is 180 minutes, only 1 minute a day!  This can be done in the home, at school, or in the community. 

Listed below are the volunteer opportunities available. For further information on volunteering, please contact any PTA board member directly. E-mail addresses are available on the PTA Officers page.


Classroom Assistance-- Provides direct support to the teachers in a variety of ways and can involve helping weekly, biweekly or monthly based on the individual teacher's needs. Please sign up in your child's classroom during Back to School night or contact your child's teacher.

Dance Committee--Assists with getting volunteers to serve food, DJ the dance, locate appropriate music and help with decorating, set-up and clean up. Epes typically holds 2-3 dances per year.

Family Fun Nights--Family events such as the Family Fun and Fitness Night and Reading is Fun Night need volunteers to assist with preparation, during the event and with clean up.

Hospitality
--Volunteers are needed to help set up and serve food items at various school functions and to help with  clean up following the event.

Library Volunteers--
Volunteers can be trained to assist with re-shelving and book checkout.

Office Help--If you can answer a phone, greet and direct people, make copies, and file this is the volunteer position for you. A ready smile and an extra pair of hands are always needed! The commitment is on an as-needed basis.

Reflections--Volunteers advertise and promote the Reflections Program. They collect applications and finished pieces of art, music, or writing to be judged at the school level. You will be needed from September to November, for a total of 5-6 hours.

Staff and Teacher Appreciation--This committee will organize activities and tokens of appreciation for our excellent staff throughout the year.

Student Photo Aid--A few parent volunteers are needed to help out on student picture days.
