Mission For The Program

The FHS Theatre Program develops skilled and disciplined theatre students who
possess a high standard of excellence, artistic integrity, and aesthetic
awareness. FHS Theatre strives to challenge students both artistically and
intellectually, so that they may become critical and creative thinkers,
while developing professional skills and attitudes.

The curriculum includes theatre history, cultural relevancy, acting theory and
training, directing theory, and production and design. Performance students
undertake a rigorous training of the mind, body, and voice, forming a solid
technique and approach to the craft. Production students develop proficiency
and appreciation of production and design through practical experience.
Advanced courses emphasize work in character analysis and interpretation,
scene study, analysis of dramatic literature, and theater history and criticism.

Special thanks to Mr. Dave Smith for helping to write this
mission statement
