Weekly Writing Prompts | |||
Each week our class will be given a series of three choices to choose from. Each student is to take the prompt through the complete writing process. Friday mornings students will turn in their plan, draft, revisions/edits, and FINAL copy. All of this will be written in their Writing Journals. As a class we will score and evaluate its quality. Please support your student by setting aside time each day for him or her to work through the writing process to complete a quality published piece. Selected “best quality” pieces will be published on the website weekly under Student Work.
Monday: Create a four square to brainstorm ideas. Tuesday: Write your first draft. Remember to write your ideas in a paragraph. Wednesday: Have an adult or sibling edit your work. Then rewrite your paragraph. Thursday: Revise your paragraph by adding details to make it more clear, or making other improvements. Write your final draft to turn in. All work will be done in your Writing Composition Notebook. This notebook will be turned in on Friday.
