STUDY TIPS AT HOME
GOLDEN RULES
Study from the guide 10 minutes each night. Don’t wait until the night before the test to study. Brains are like computers. If you try to input too much data all at once, the system may crash!
Be goofy and just make studying FUN!!!
FUN WAYS TO STUDY
Make flashcards of words (word on one side/definition on the back)
1. Play “War” to see who gets the most cards. Call off the word and ask for the definition or call of the definition and ask for the word. If your child gets it right, they get the card. If they get it wrong, you get to keep the card. I always give them a chance to win the cards back at the end.
2. Play “What am I” by calling out definition and asking for the correct word.

Make flashcards of the words (word on one card/definition on another card)
1. Play “Concentration” or “Match Game.” Shuffle all cards, place face down and have them try and match the word with the definition.
2. Play “Go Fish.” Shuffle the cards and deal them all out. Play the game to find all of the matches.
Use the information off of the study guide to ask question by playing “Jeopardy” or “Millionaire.”
If you come up with some other good ideas that worked well at home, please email me so I can post them on the class website.
