Oh, I almost forgot! School Carnival is TOMORROW from 10-3. Stop by the face painting booth to
see the second grade teachers. Thank you to everyone who donated to our beach/pool gift basket.
There will be many other baskets there for the silent auction as well. Hope to see you there!

This upcoming week is very busy:
*We will begin Program Practices (A reminder that our Spring Program is Tuesday, June 12 at
9:00 AM. You may take your child with you afterwards.)
*Thursday 6/7 is International Feast Day. Your child does not need a lunch or drink. They still need
to provide their own snack for the morning. I invite the children to dress in any Chinese apparel they
may have (chopsticks in hair, kimono, etc.)
*Friday 6/8 is Donuts for Dad 9:00-9:30. If dad can't make it, maybe an uncle, grandpa or male 
neighbor friend could stop by.
*4th Quarter AR Cut off - Friday, June 8! Don't forget that this is part of your child's reading grade!
Many have already met their personal goal. An icecream party has been scheduled for June 11.
 
Next week we also have some big tests:
Thursday - Sci Ch 3
Friday - China Quiz (info will be sent home)

Next week we will begin studying CHINA!! To celebrate the end of our unit, we will have our 
International Feast Day on Thursday, June 7. On this day the students will have Chinese food
for lunch. They will also get to visit Mexico (Mrs. Maguire's class) and try some Mexican cuisine.
 
Please send in $5 cash by Friday, June 1 to cover the cost of the Chinese food. This allows the
students to try a variety of different foods. Your child WILL NOT need a lunch this day.
 
I will also need some parent volunteers for the following:
*Servers the day of (for about an hour)- have 2 volunteers, still room for 1 or 2 more
*Cups/Plates (for 50 students) - got this covered!
*Drinks (for 50 students) - got this covered!
*Silverware (for 50 students) - got this covered!
 
Let me know if you are interested! It really is a fun day, and the students enjoy it so much.

A few things:
*Student Recital is tomorrow at 12:15. Many of our kids are preforming. Make sure they are dressed
nicely. The rest of us will go and enjoy the show :)
 
*We have started reviewing for our end of the year Lang test. Keep a lookout in the homework folders
for review A and B. This is what your child should study to prepare for the end of the year test on
Friday.
 
*Sci Ch 2 Test will be on Tuesday, May 29 - We will review and pass back all papers Friday.

Our pool/beach basket is complete! Thank you to all who donated to our gift basket for the carnival!
Look for it at the carnival along with other creative baskets from the other classes. The basket that
has the most bids at the silent auction will have FREE Chic-fil-A lunch in the classroom! 
 
A reminder that our carnival will be on Sat. June 2!

Reminder: If you signed up for anything for our beach/pool basket for the carnival, those items are
due tomorrow!!! Picture money is also due tomorrow.
 
Lang. Unit 7 Test has been moved to Monday. The following items will be covered:
Adverbs
Antonyms
Contractions
Main Idea
Sentences (Questions, Commands, Exclamations, or Statements)
None of this is brand new so they should all be just fine! :)

Progress Reports went home today! Check your child's homework folder.

Moms: Tomorrow is Muffins for Moms! It is from 9-9:30. Please enter our building through the side
door and come in quietly as some classes will have already started SAT testing.

It's hard to believe it's almost the end of the year! We are coming to the end of our Language Unit 7.
We will have our Unit 7 Test on Friday, May 18. Then, we will begin reviewing everything we have
learned in language this year. On Monday and Tuesday (May 21 & 22) we will do an end of the year
review to prepare for the end of the year language test on Friday, May 25. Then, language will be over!
